WAR JOURNAL ENTRY: BATTLE FOR SAMBISIA- NA DEPLOYS BELARUS-TRAINED SPECIAL FORCES IN NE

These are definitely not the best of times for the Abu Shekau-led Islamic State's province in West Africa (ISWAP) otherwise known as Boko Haram as their once highly prized fortress in Sambisa is being destroyed inch by inch.

In the last few days, Nigerian troops have stormed the vast forest in a daring assault which has resulted in the rescue of a large number of women and minors, as well as the death of numerous die-hard terrorists.

Camp after Camp has been destroyed, while more and more equipment have either been destroyed or captured as the terrorists continue to flee deeper into the forest, retreating in disarray.

The crux of this article however, is not the rescue of the poor kids or the deaths of these cowards, but that the highly rugged, sophisticated, properly-drilled, high-intensity fighting machine known as the Nigerian Army Rangers Unit are now being given a starring role to storm the forest and hunt down the ringleaders, most notably Isa Damsaka alias Abu Shekau Alias Imam Abubakar Shekau (whichever you prefer!)

Shekau, who mysteriously went silent after the enormously successful 6-week campaign of the Nigerian Armed Forces, backed by the Multi-National coalition of neighboring countries, has remained in hiding, refusing to release his characteristically arrogant videos, or even issue a single threat.

The once feared spokesman-cum-leader of the sect, has all of a sudden become a solemn lamb, retreating behind the lines and barricading all known routes to his own position with Land mines and die-hard foot-soldiers who man the numerous camps that litter the length and breadth of Sambisa forest. 

As it is, the highly crack and well-trained mobile Company of Special Forces, having just completed an intensive, all-action Counter-Terrorism training in Belarus and other western countries, have returned to the country and are now poised to unleash all of Hell's Fury on the hapless Damsaka who is more or less a man living on borrowed time, as he has been unable to flee the North-Eastern  Nigerian region, having fled from Dikwa to Bama, Gwoza, Alagarno and finally into the strongholds of Sambisa where it is only a matter of time before the deadly Special Forces visit him with a dose of his own favorite medicine!
