WAR JOURNAL UPDATE: THE GHOSTS OF SAMBISA-TRIBUTE TO NIGERIA'S DEADLY SPECIAL FORCES

And so, the battle rages on in the North-East as Nigerian Special Forces and regular troops engage the Boko Haram terrorists in a no-holds barred encounter. All through the night, bullets of varying calibers fly out from rifle barrels, giving the landscape a new design, while also sending many-a-terrorist to the great beyond (actually the lesser-beyond if you ask me!)

The once emboldened scoundrels are now seeking shelter from the dare-devil Nigerian soldiers whose monstrous advance has been relentless, brutal and horrifyingly accurate. As a matter of fact, the terrorists are being decimated in their hundreds as they flee in all directions, scurrying for safety under the rocks and trees, and any other thing that might protect them from the barrels of death!

From sources on the ground, the fear of Nigerian special forces is the beginning of wisdom! as even the now clean-shaven Damsaka has learned.
As it stands, the entry of the Special Forces into the fray has to a considerable extent aided the cause of Nigeria to reclaim its lost territory and send the lunatic-warp-minded BH guys to their timely death.

In a recent press conference, the Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel SK Usman disclosed that about 481 elite troops drawn from the Nigerian Army, Air Force, Navy and Police Force, recently completed a Special Forces training before they were deployed to fight Boko Haram in the North East.

Colonel Usman, who made this known during a monthly press conference at the Army Headquarters in Abuja Wednesday, stated that they were deployed within the last month of the ongoing counter terrorism operation.

He noted that successes in operations against Boko Haram are manifestations of Nigeria Army’s huge investment in personnel and material resources within the period.
According to Colonel Usman: “the recent achievement recorded in the North East can be attributed to the exploits of this elite force”, adding that “one additional battalion – 151 Battalion, has also completed its training and has been inducted into the theatre”.
He further said: “two battalions, 152 and 153 Battalions are currently undergoing training and will be inducted on completion”.

The Army Colonel also said the Army Headquarters Task Force Group is currently in the last phase of training while Nigerian Army Armoured School, Bauchi has intensified training of tank crews personnel.

He further disclosed that personnel training on Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the United Kingdom and the United State of America is still ongoing.

As things stand, We cannot say categorically that the battle has been won as we can all attest to the fact that, a case of suicide bombing was recorded in Adamawa state, but we can definitely say that Never Again will deranged elements torment our dear country with reckless abandon, kidnap our children, rape our girls or visit unwarranted and mindless violence on our old folks. With the present tempo and commitment, combined with God's unfailing grace we shall prevail.
