The
Nigerian Navy has handed over 5 vessels involved in illegal oil bunkering to
the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCSC) for necessary legal
action as the lead Agency in-charge of Protection of Critical Infrastructure
and National Assets in Nigeria
This
was the assertion of the Commandant General of the (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana
Muhammadu. Gana when he received the Commander Naval Unit, Commodore Ngolmo
Poyilma Aliyu in his office at the Corps National Headquarters, Abuja.
The
NSCDC boss acknowledged the existing collaborations and enviable synergy
between the Corps and the Nigerian Navy, especially in the fight against
illegal bunkering, oil theft and vandalism. In his words, “the Navy as one of
the stakeholders has arrested suspects and impounded their vessels and ship
which have always being handed over to the Corps for investigation and
prosecution in line with our mandate.”
