Zamfara state governor lauds Force Commander Operation Hadari Daji; congratulates him on appointment as GOC 8 Division, Nigerian Army

The Zamfara State Governor, Honorable Mohammed Bello Matawalle, has lauded the achievements of the Force Commander, Operation Hadari Daji, Major General Jide Ogunlade, and equally rejoiced with him over his appointment as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, Sokoto. The Governor made these remarks when he received the Force Commander at government house, Gusau on Monday, 15 July, 2019. Governor Matawalle, who described the Force Commander as a man of Integrity who works within the ambits of the law, said within a short period, the Force Commander lead a robust and well-marshalled Joint Task Force comprising various security agencies, which to a large extent, stifled the activities of armed bandits operating in Zamfara state and environs. The governor stressed that due to the concerted efforts of the Force Commander, the state has recorded an unmatched, unprecedented, eventful and drastic reduction of criminal activities especially in the areas of kidnapping, cattle rustling, armed banditry and invasion of communities. He commended the Nigerian Army for recognizing these achievements with its decision to give the Force Commander a higher responsibility as the GOC, 8 Division to oversee Sokoto,Zamfara, Katsina and Kebbi states. In his words, governor Matawalle lauded the Force Commander, saying "with this new leaf in the development of your career as a dedicated soldier, I have no doubt it will encourage you to do more to ensuring the return of total peace in the North-Western region." He prayed for Allah to continue to guide and protect the Force Commander in the new assignment, adding that the state government would continue to support and cooperate with him on this new appointment in all ways possible. In his remarks, the Force Commander thanked the Governor for his unwavering support and encouragement to Operation Hadari Daji which greatly assisted the operation in its mission to rid Zamfara state of all forms of criminality. He thereafter urged members of the general public to continue cooperating with Operation Hadari Daji, to aid the military in its mission to foster lasting peace in Zamfara state.
