'Be Bold And Courageous Against Criminals' - General Mutkut Charges Troops

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), Major General Godwin Mutkut has directed troops to be bold and courageous in dealing decisively with all criminal elements and enemies of the state within their Areas of Operations. The JTF Commander gave these directives during his operational visits to troops of  Sector 1 Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) of OPHD at Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji of Zamfara state recently on Wednesday 22 February 2023.

General Mutkut who assumed command of OPHD on 17 January 2023, commended the troops for their efforts in protecting the lives and properties of citizens within their places of deployment. He also commended the troops for the successes achieved so far and in decimating the ranks of the bandits. He further charged the troops not to relent but take the fight to the bandits enclaves and flush the remnants out from their hideouts.

The GOC/Comd JTF NW OPHD encouraged the troops to continuously act professionally in the discharge of their duties especially in the coming general elections. He charged the troops to abide by the Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement for the 2023 elections. He added that the primary roles of the troops during the election was to provide robust security and protection of lives and properties during and after the election. He further warned troops to remain apolitical and not to be seen fraternizing with any politicians during the conduct of the election.
