GOC 8 Division Reiterates Commitment to Support NAOWA

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division Nigerian Army who also double as the Commander Joint Task Force Northwest operation HADARIN DAJI Major General Godwin Mutkut has reiterated his commitment to continue supporting Nigerian Army Officers' Wives Association (NAOWA) to meet it objectives of uplifting the conditions of barracks women and children. He stated, this when the Chairperson NAOWA 8 Division Chapter Mrs Florence Godwin Mutkut paid him a courtesy visit on 7 March 2023. 



The GOC said that NAOWA is a Non-government Organisation that carried out several projects to assist barracks women and children as such they need to be assisted to execute thier projects. He promised to support them in  renovating NAOWA Nursery and Primary School, provision teaching materials, improving on the Division Skills acquisition centre among others.

 He therefore urged NAOWA to continue praying for troops deployed for various Internal Security Operations so as to gain victory over bandits and terrorists.




In her remarks, the Chairperson NAOWA 8 Division Chapter Mrs Florence Mutkut, applauded the Nigerian Army's contributions towards NAOWA activities. She said this was noticed in all Nigerian Army formations and units with improved infrastructures of NAOWA schools, Skills acquisition centres, empowerment of barracks families and support to widows. She added, that she will continue to partner with the Division to create a self reliance opportunities so as to uplift  the leaving conditions of barracks women and children in extensions neighbouring communities to the barracks. 



She expressed gratitude and appreciations to the NAOWA national president Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya for her enormous support to the Division. That she will consolidate on it especially the education of the barracks children she stressed.
